Custom Seas Overview
Custom Seas offers a separate game mode to the standard Sea of Thieves experience. It provides customisation tools that enable you to create new rules and challenges to share with other pirates, making every session unique.
Use Switches to Customise
To remove friction from the process of bringing your ideas to life, Custom Seas is built around switches that let you toggle different aspects of the experience on and off as desired. These are set in the lobby, rather than during the session.
Save Your Presets
With the ability to save your created modes as Presets, you’ll be able to revisit your most successful ideas whenever you choose. Each player can save up to 10 Presets, giving you ample opportunity to experiment without losing progress.

Rowboat Royale
Split everyone into teams of two – one pilot and one gunner – and battle to the death aboard Rowboats with nothing but a Trident to defend yourself. Watch out for the Gunpowder Barrels hidden in the water while you’re at it…
TDM!
An oldie-but-goodie – team deathmatch! Bullets are set to fly in this showdown on Old Sailor Isle, with spoils of silver on offer to pirates who can slay a member of the enemy team or revive one of their own fallen fighters before time runs out.
Skeleton Snipe Hunt
Put your aim to the test from the comfort of your own Galleon. With your entire crew aboard, challenge them to see who can take out the highest number of skeletons roaming a nearby shoreline, earning precious silver with every kill.
Command Menu
The Command Menu is the interface through which Session Owners and Leaders by default (and Session Pirates, if granted permission) can control the game. Within it, you have access to a wealth of on-demand actions for adapting the world as you see fit. Fly across the seas, edit ships and crews or spawn a mighty Kraken! Many commands can also be saved to the Quick Commands radial for ease of use.
Legendary Locations
Within Custom Seas, you have the ability to access several environments not normally available within standard Sea of Thieves play. These include in the interior of the Glorious Sea Dog Tavern and Tribute Peak, amongst others, all of which can act as unique, thematic backdrops to your custom creations.
Scoreboards
Pirates are a competitive bunch, so it’s fortunate that Custom Seas has the tools for you to find out who really is the best once and for all: scoreboards! These in-game tables can track any players in your session and keep a tally of how much silver they’ve managed to earn by completing goals set by the Session Owner, enabling perfectly personalised competitions.
